WELCOME TO TONG-LEN USA

Tong-Len USA based in Greenville, North Carolina, is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to funding programs that serve the poor in northern India. We are allied with Tong-Len Charitable Trust, based in Dharamsala, India, the non-governmental organization that implements the programs we fund. Our other partner organization, Tong-Len UK, is a major fundraiser based in Scotland. All three partner organizations strive to help displaced communities in northern India achieve a secure and sustainable future by addressing the root causes of their poverty and ill-health through a range of educational and health-based projects.

Although each organization participates in all of the projects, Tong-Len USA is primarily responsible for funding the medical programs. The vulnerability of the population we serve places them at great risk medically as they have no other access to medical care. The displaced people we serve have come from many places throughout India. They are among the poorest people in the country, and malnutrition among the under-five population approaches 100%, while immunization rates are near zero.

Through our mobile clinic, we are now providing rotating general clinics, immunizations clinics, and under-five clinics devoted to enhancing the well-being of the population. We are currently serving 3000 people in seven slums throughout the region. You can see some of our work on YouTube here.
